ResQ

ResQ was established as the Statens Havarivernskole in 1973 as a result of a three major ship accidents in 1969. Later the school was incorporated into the education system, first as part of the State Safety College in 1991 and as part of Stord / Haugesund University College in 1994.

As a commercial business ResQ was established and privatized in 2001 when four Norwegian shipping companies in the Haugesund region took over the school operations of Stord / Haugesund University College. In 2013 ResQ was included as a separate subsidiary in the Acona group. Today ResQ is a wholly owned company in the DNB bank ASA group.

ResQ AS is a leading complete supplier of services and expertise in safety and emergency preparedness. A wide range of courses and services are delivered to all types of customers related to the maritime industry as well as oil and gas at safety centers in Bergen, Haugesund, Grimstad, Haugesund, Kristiansund and Stavanger. ResQ also offers customized courses on request.

ResQ AS delivers risk analyzes, advice and planning, education, and training on land and on board, as well as all types of safety training and exercises, verification and investigation. The company also has a «24/7-staffed» operational emergency center that offers emergency services for first-, second- and third-line emergency services for customers, as well as relatives and media services, including reception centers along the entire coast.

The ResQ group has 55 permanent employees and over 500 hired resources spread across the country. Most of the employees have a long career in ResQ.
